Select Your Special Adoptee

Sadie is a registered miniature horse surrendered to us from a family that could no longer take care of her and her buddy, Annie, a standard-bred horse. She’s about 16 years old.

Our Belgian draft horse Joey is about 24 years old and part of a brotherly team. Sadly, his brother Jourdan passed away in January. Joey is an extra-large horse, 19.5 hands high or 6 and a half feet tall at his shoulder.

A dusky-brown standard-size donkey, Stewart is one of 5 donkeys we brought in from a private sanctuary in Oklahoma in 2024. He lives here with his mother Alma, another Alexis Acres resident.

Small, but mighty, Anthony is one of our 4 miniature donkeys surrendered to Alexis Acres in 2024. The minis are strongly bonded and tend to stay in their own little sub-herd. We estimate that Anthony’s around 25 years old—and since all 4 minis were a little overweight when they arrived, they’re on a special diet. Patient and good natured, they don’t seem to mind.

A pearly-white, standard size donkey, Snow is a Bureau of Land Management rescue from Oklahoma. She’s the mother of Charlotte and part of a trio we rescued in 2023.

Another one of the 4 pet minis surrendered to Alexis Acres, Princess Grace is also probably around 25 years old. Her luxurious gray fur coat camouflaged the fact that the Princess was also slightly overweight when she arrived—but her special diet is slowly bringing her weight back to more healthy levels.

Lovely, gentle Ingrid was named after the legendary film star, Ingrid Bergman.

Rescued from the Bureau of Land Management in Oklahoma, Charlotte was part of a group we rescued in 2023, along with her mother, Snow.
